UPD. Instagram has officially announced the launch of the Take a Break feature in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Testing continues in other regions.
With this feature, users will be able to set reminders to take a break from using the app after a certain period of activity – 10, 20 or 30 minutes.
During the testing phase, some users will be asked to activate this option from their feed and set an activity period for the break reminder.
As conceived by the developers, this should draw the attention of users to the time they spend on Instagram and manage it better, and periodically stop “mindlessly” flipping through the feed.
The social network will offer to take a few deep breaths, write down your thoughts, listen to music or do something from your to-do list.
At the same time, Instagram time management tools appeared a long time ago. If you go to the “Your Time – Time” section, you can set daily reminders. Therefore, the function looks more like a cosmetic change and the appearance of new tips.
